ASSOCIATION
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop
and present on-ice programs within the association
-
Perform public relations as required pertaining to the association and
its coaches
- Liase
with Executive Committee on behalf of the coaches in the association
- In
charge of selection of coaches for various divisions within the
association
-
Present list for selection of coaches to Executive Committee for
approval
- Liase
with B.C.A.H.A. District Coaching Coordinator regarding coaching clinics
-
Recommend coaches to Executive Committee for attendance at higher-level
clinics
- Meet
with association coaches to discuss problems and solutions
- Attend
regular meetings of the Executive Committee
-
Perform evaluations on coaches during games and practices
- Assist
with evaluation of players for team selection
-
Establish team play guidelinesCoordinate meeting of coaches and players
with local referee-in-chief or B.C.A.H.A. Referee Committee Member for
better understanding of the rules of the game
- Other
duties as assigned by the local association
- Manage
and minimize the risk inherent in performing the day-to-day duties of a
coach coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong
interest in and personal commitment to coaching

Ability to work in conjunction with District Coaching Coordinator and
association coaches

Ability to prepare and conduct public relations events

Ability to design and implement programs at the association level

Ability to conduct evaluation of coaches

Ability to evaluate players for team selection
- Strong
commitment to BCAHA coaching/initiation programs

Ability to present lectures to coaches at the local association level

Availability as to time requirements
- Must
have strong administration abilities

- Serve
as an official spokesperson on behalf of the team

Coordinate the delegation of responsibilities to the Assistant Coach
and Manager
- Plan
on-ice and off-ice team activities in consultation with the Assistant
Coach

Coordinate player evaluation and player selection in conjunction with
the Coach Coordinator
- Plan,
implement and control pre-game preparation and communication with the
team
- Design
the practise plans in consultation with the Assistant Coach
- Coach
the Team in all games and practices

Establish rules for the team and oversee the supervision of the players
submit a year end report which contains the following information;
evaluation of the players performance, evaluation of the
team'sperformance, outline of practise plans and game strategy and
recommendations on how the program can be improved.

Coordinate the implementation of the on-ice curriculum as outlined

with team communication regarding events

necessary equipment and supplies for the team

Coordinate team financial matters including player fees, sponsorship,
advertising, grants etc.

financial statements as per association policy

a year-end evaluation report containing observations on team
performance and recommendations on the program

Generate a team address list and circulate
- Attend
scheduled meetings and produce a team schedule in conjunction with the
coaching staff

Communicate needs for officials with association

Coordinate all pre and post game paperwork and distribute to
appropriate parties (i.e. game sheets, etc.)

Arrange for off-ice officials

Communicate with media/association on the team results
- Serve
as Risk Management liaison for the team. This includes the reporting of
injuries and return to play guidelines in conjunction with the team
trainer

DIVISIONAL MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Represent
the interests of players and parents of the division to the Association
Executive

Oversee the operation of teams in the division
- Assist
the Coach Coordinator with selection of coaches
-
Supplies the registrar with appropriate information on team officials
and players
- May
arrange for player and coach evaluation (in conjunction with the Coach
Coordinator)
- In
conjunction with team personnel, arranges for the allocation of players
to teams. This may also involve player movement, addition and deletion
during the season
- Ensure
that team equipment needs (including safety) are fulfilled through the
equipment manager
- Ensure
that, through the equipment manager, teams are provided with and return
uniforms

Provide information on practice and game ice allocation to the division
- Ensure
team officials are knowledgeable of and adhere to game administration
procedures
- Ensure
team officials adhere to association penalty procedure
- May
assist in the development of divisional tournaments
-
Oversees the equitable assignment of exhibition games and approves all
out of town exhibition games for the division. Oversees the
administration procedures for these games

HCSP (SAFETY PERSON)
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Conducts regular checks of
players' equipment
- Is responsible for promoting
proper warm up and conditioning techniques as a form of injury
prevention
- Establishes medical history
files on every player and carries these files and the team first aid
kit on every outing
- Implements an Emergency Action
Plan for the team and through this is prepared to react in the event of
accidents, injuries and medical emergencies
- Manages all injuries, learns to
recognize serious injuries and refers injured players to qualified
professionals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be minimum age of 16
- Must attend and pass an 8 hour
certification course, and re-certify every 3 years
- A safety background is an asset,
but not a prerequisite
- All safety persons are
encouraged to enhance their skills with current first aid and CPR
training
SELECTION
- Interested persons may identify
themselves to the coach or team manager
