VMHA Recertification for the 2025-26 Season

Recertification for the 2025-26 Season

In preparation for the upcoming season for all returning officials, there are some important updates to the recertification process to be aware of. This season, all returning officials are now required to complete annual recertification in two (2) Phases:

PHASE 1

Register for and complete online recertification course and quiz, including purchase of Participant Assessment Fee (Insurance) if applicable. (Any official that is or will NOT be registered for the 2025-26 as a Hockey Canada player or team official MUST purchase the Participant Assessment Fee when registering for this online recertification course. Please review this VIDEO for more information about adding this fee to your registration.) Note: if you are playing U21 with VMHA you do not need to purchase this fee.

Step 1: Criminal Record Check (CRC) (required for all officials 18 years or older)

Step 2: Officials complete the online course that corresponds to their certification level.

  • HCOP online recertification courses contain four (4) modules.
  • Each course includes a level specific quiz. Level 1, 2 & 3 officials will be provided unlimited retries for the quiz, until the applicable minimum score is achieved.

PHASE 2

Please find information below regarding the recertification Super Clinics.

The classroom session is now two (2) hours long. You only need to register for one session. They are offered at more than one time during the day.

Lower Mainland recertification clinics are now posted. You cannot register for a Super Clinic until you have completed PHASE 1.

Please read below for additional information and troubleshooting tips!

As a VMHA player, you are already registered through our association for the 2025-26 season. You DO NOT need to pay the participant assessment fee (insurance) with your registration. Adult officials – if you are registered as a VMHA Coach you are also not required to pay the fee.

If you have or are turning 18 prior to Dec 31, 2025 - you need to complete a Criminal Record Check prior to being able to register - the system will not permit your registration if you require a criminal record check - see the link below to navigate to CRC.

If you cannot register due to not having a current CRC - complete it ASAP and advise the BC Hockey office (crc@bchockey.net).

You are only able to register for the clinic level you are currently at provided you have completed the required pre-requisites.

Please contact me at refassignor@vmha.com if you have any questions or problems. I recommend you register for a clinic soon, as they fill up quickly.
