Britannia Security Issues
With this last week of practices, and the upcoming spring clinics we need to address an increasing issue with Britannia rink. There has been a couple of interactions between groups of young adults that seem to be looking for an altercation with our players who arrive early awaiting entry outside the rink.
Parents are reminded that despite this season being what it has been, it is not a drop-off service in that regard. Parents are to ensure a team official (who is a volunteer and may be late) is present before leaving the area.
Team Wrap Up Parties
Sadly, under the current Public Health Order in person gatherings are not permitted.
From VIA Sport:
Q: Can I attend a group activity with my youth sport team, like a wind-up, team photo shoot or holiday party, which is scheduled outside of my dedicated training time?
PHO Order:
Group activities, other than time dedicated to training, are not considered to be youth sport. These activities fall under the definition of “event” found in the PHO Health Order and is addressed under Section B of the Order.

Please plan a Zoom party or some other creative way to wrap up and say goodbye to 2020-2021

VMHA Yearend Player Feedback
This hockey season has been tough for many reasons and you were not able to share in the hockey experience like you are used to. To create more connection with families many of our volunteers have stepped up to share photos and videos within their teams so players can be viewed on the ice. In addition, we have asked coaches to provide some feedback to families in a written format. Since many of you have not been able to see your player(s) on the ice, we felt it was important to provide a snapshot of how they are doing with their hockey skills.
The feedback will not be used in future tryouts or evaluations and are only for communicating to your family. Some coaches have indicated they will modify the process by communicating to you directly or by choosing not to “score” the players. In all cases the goal is the same: provide feedback to families on their player’s development and participation in VMHA programs. The main form of delivery will be through the TeamGenius application and a report will be emailed to parents during the week of March 15th.
Thanks for your support through this trying year. We are looking forward to being able to return to our usual programming next fall!
