This year Vancouver Minor’s Peewee was an entrant in the 2019 Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup. The team discussed a variety of good deeds and after voting decided on sponsoring a Christmas for a family in need.
Taking their mission directly to the community, through on the street fund raising, going door to door, making & selling pizza dough, and holding a neighbourhood bottle drive, the team raised over $1300 in just one week.

Upon partnering with our local Chevrolet dealer, Dueck Downtown, the team received an additional $200 in Real Canadian Superstore gift cards for the family and Dueck also delivered them a turkey. The team purchased gifts on the families wish list, wrapped them, and delivered the presents right under their tree.

During the initiative, the players and parents of the PWA2 team found out about their head coach’s battle with a rare kidney disease that requires him to need a transplant as soon as possible.

To help their coach Stephen locate a living donor the team created a social media campaign and video for him to share to spread his message of need. If you or someone you know is interested in donating please contact the Vancouver transplant coordinator: Renee Katter 604-875-4111 EXT. 20518 or 1-855-875-5185

Through these initiatives the team has learned about entrepreneurship, communication skills, and how rewarding it is to put others before yourself and the amazing outcomes that can be obtained when doing so.
